Dr. James Simmons
Dr. James Simmons was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, but moved to Beaufort, SC at the age of one. He is a local of Beaufort having attended Battery Creek High School. He graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta with his BS in Biology. He then went to the University of Pittsburgh where he received his MD degree. Dr. Simmons moved back to Beaufort in 1999 to provide pediatric services to the community he loves. He is now an American Academy of Pediatrics Fellow. Dr. Simmons has received many awards and recognition for his medical quality as well as his commitment to his community. Currently, Dr. Simmons works in private practice at All Children’s Pediatrics.
Rene Holmes, FNP-C
Rene Holmes, FNP-C was born and raised in Beaufort, SC. She has over 10 years of nursing experience, beginning as a nursing assistant and working her way to nurse practitioner. Rene attended Technical College of the Lowcountry, where she received her ADN and eventually Walden University, where she received her Master Degree and Family Nurse Practitioner certification. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, South Carolina Nurses Association, and the Gullah Church Nurses Association.
